Mysore,Dec 31, 2013, DHNS: J K Chandrashekar, father of former cricketer Javagal Srinath, went missing here for a while on Tuesday, causing anxious moments to his family members. He was found after two hours.

Chandrashekar, 78, accompanied by his younger brother Mohanram, had gone to Devaraja Market on Sayyaji Rao Road in a chauffeur-driven car around 9.30 am. Mohanram, who alighted in front of the market, asked the driver to bring Chandrashekar along, after parking the car. The driver went alone to the market, leaving behind Chandrashekar in the vehicle. It was only after some time when Mohanram asked about his brother did the driver realise the mistake. He rushed to the car to find Chandrashekar missing. He informed Mohanram and both approached the Devaraja police.

Police relayed the description of Chandrashekar over walkie-talkie to all stations. Mohanram and the driver also went in search of him. Around 11.30 am, Chandrashekar was found walking near the 4th  main road in Jayanagar, nearly five km from the market. Police said he may have lost his way home due to age-related forgetfulness. Chandrashekar, a former businessman, lives with his wife in Kuvempunagar. Srinath, who lives in Bangalore, visits his parents often.
