Bangalore: KPCC chief G Parameshwara said on Tuesday that S R Hiremath of Samaja Parivartana Samudaya had sent him a set of documents pertaining to the alleged involvement of Infrastructure Development Minister Santosh Lad in illegal mining and that he would examine them with the help of the party’s legal cell.

Speaking to reporters, he said it was not proper on the part of the Opposition parties to threaten to boycott the winter session of the legislature, demanding the removal of Lad from the ministry. He was speaking after being greeted by party leaders and workers on his completing three years in office as the State Congress president. He promised to look into allegations against party leader K C Kondaiah that he had taken up construction of a private building on a plot meant for constructing the Congress office in Bellary. Asked about when he would join the government, he said the decision was left to the chief minister.

The State party chief said winning maximum number of seats in the State in the coming Lok Sabha elections was a big challenge for him and expressed confidence that the party would do well.
