KPCC to discuss LS poll preparations today

The Karnata Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) executive committee meeting is scheduled to be held here on Saturday.

It is the first meeting of State executive after the party came to power.

The meeting will mainly discuss preparations to be made for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, KPCC president G Parameshwara told reporters after taking part in Valmiki Jayanti organised at the party office here on Friday .

Appointments

Besides, the issues such as delay in appointing heads of various boards and corporations of the government, mass transfer of officials and discontent among some party MLAs on the style of functioning of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah are likely to be discussed in the meeting.

Most of the senior leaders of the party in the State will attend the meeting.

All India Congress Committee Karnataka in-charge Digvijay Singh is unlikely to participate.Earlier in the day, Parameshwara held a closed-door meeting with Siddaramaiah for nearly an hour.

The two leaders are learnt to have discussed the agenda for the Saturday’s meeting.
