BANGALORE, October 17: Actor-producer Raghavendra Rajkumar was admitted in hospital on Wednesday morning after he experienced uneasiness while working out at a gymnasium, triggering anxiety among his family and colleagues. However, his condition is said to be stable.
He is recuperating in the intensive care unit at Columbia Asia Referral Hospital in Yeshwanthpur here.
Even as news of his illness spread, a huge crowd, including relatives, those from the film fraternity and media personnel, rushed to the hospital by afternoon to get more information on the health condition of the actor, the second son of the thespian late Rajkumar. His elder brother, Shivarajkumar, told presspersons that Raghavendra had a clot in the brain which was removed through surgery. “He is fine now. He is under observation and he needs rest,” he said. He said that his brother felt uneasy and weak when he was jogging on the treadmill in the gym. He was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment, Mr. Shivarajkumar said.
Raghavendra Rajkumar’s mother, Parvathamma Rajkumar, visited him in the hospital, sources said. Medha Huilgol, consultant-anaesthesiology, Columbia Asia Hospital, in a press release, said that Raghavendra Rajkumar was brought to the hospital at 9.15 a.m. with an “acute medical condition”. A team of doctors is attending on him. The release stated that he was responding well to treatment and was expected to recover quickly. Meanwhile, several industry colleagues, including producer Rockline Venkatesh, actors Murali and Doddanna, yesteryear actor Leelavathi, accompanied by her son Vinod Raj, visited Raghavendra Rajkumar.
