BELLARY, September 20:  All examinations of postgraduate courses being conducted by the Distance Education Centre of the Kuvempu University at a centre in Bellary have been cancelled after mass copying came to light on Wednesday.

An announcement to this effect was made by Bhoja Naik, Registrar (Evaluation), on Thursday, after he visited the centre and got details from the official deputed by the university to oversee the conduct of examinations.

“We have cancelled all the exams for PG courses being held at the centre run by Sri Sai Education Academy following reports of mass copying. We have sought a detailed report from the official deputed by the university. Based on the report, the university will take a decision on the matter, including announcing fresh dates for conducting the exams,” Mr. Naik told The Hindu.

Based on a tip-off, Anirudh Shravan, Assistant Commissioner of Bellary, visited Sharbeshwara Institute of Nursing, where Sri Sai Education Academy was conducting examinations on behalf of the university and found that candidates were indulging in mass copying. He immediately alerted the university.
