Class 6 student commits suicide

Bangalore, Sept 8:A 11-year-old boy allegedly ended his life over a trivial issue at his house in NR Layout, Vijinapura, on Friday evening.

Vishnudas, a class 6 student at the nearby Jubilee School, was the only son of Ravichander, a cab driver and Bindu, a homemaker.

Vishnudas was watching television in the hall on Friday evening at around 6 pm, when his mother scolded him for watching television without a break, and asked him to study.
The boy went into the room and locked himself up. Bindu assumed he was studying in the room. At around 7:30 pm, she called out for him to have his dinner.

When he didn’t respond, Bindu went outside the house and peeped through the window from the other side, only to see him hanging from the ceiling fan in the room. With the help of neighbours, she broke open the door and brought him down. He was dead by then, sources said.

Ramamurthynagar police have registered a case of unnatural death. An autopsy was conducted at Dr B R Ambedkar Medical College and the body was handed over to the grieving family on Saturday morning.

Plumber stabbed to death

A plumber was stabbed to death by his friend and two other men at Rajagopalnagar on Friday night.

The dead, Venkatesh, 32, hailed from Anchepalya and had married Nagaratna nine years ago.

The couple had three daughters aged eight, six and one. Police said Venkatesh was a chronic alcoholic and was irregular at work.

He used to pick fights with Nagaratna over her alleged affair with his friend Siddaraju, a 28-year-old unemployed youth, police said.

Venkatesh used to have tiffs with Siddaraju over the issue, and on Thursday, he had assaulted Siddaraju during one such fight.

On Friday at around 9.30 pm, Siddaraju came to his house with two of his friends and took Venkatesh outside the house.

The three allegedly took him to Sateesh Circle, 8th Cross, Rajgopalnagar, a few blocks away from the house. During the altercation that ensued, Siddaraju allegedly stabbed Venkatesh with a kitchen knife in the abdomen and chest. Venkatesh collapsed in a pool of blood and the men fled from the scene, the police said.

Rajgopalnagar police have registered a murder case. Of the two other suspects, one has been identified as a person who goes by the name ‘Juttu’. Details of the third suspect are yet to be ascertained.

Three killed in accident

Three men triple riding a motorcycle were killed in a hit-and-run accident in Doddaballpur on Friday late night.

The dead have been identified as Karthik, 23, of Doddaballapur town, Sushanth, 24, of Chikkaballapur and Deepak, 24, of Chintamani.

All the three were drunk when the accident occurred, according to police.

The three friends, classmates during their diploma course, were working in a factory at Bashettyhalli, Doddaballapur Industrial Area far from the past two months. They were living in a rented house near ‘D’ Cross, Doddaballapur Town.

On Friday evening, the trio came to Bangalore, riding triple on Sushanth’s motorbike. On their way back home, they stopped over at a theatre in Yelahanka and went for a movie. Police suspect the three consumed liquor at a bar later.

A vehicle hit their bike on the stretch between Siddanayakanahalli and Muttur while they were returning home, the police added.

A senior police official said that from the scene of the accident and the damages that the bike has suffered, it could be deduced that a multiutility vehicle or a lorry rammed the bike head on.

However, there were no CCTV cameras anywhere nearby. A special team has been formed to track down the vehicle and the driver responsible for the accident.
