High CourtBANGALORE: In a big relief to K S Eshwarappa, former deputy chief minister and senior BJP leader, the Karnataka high court has quashed the investigation ordered by the special Lokayukta court of Shimoga against a private complaint in connection with disproportionate assets(DA) case.

Justice K N Keshavanarayana passed this order while allowing the complainant B Vinod from Shimoga to file a memo before the special Lokayukta court.

Eshwarappa and others had challenged the initiation of criminal proceedings against them by the special Lokayukta court at Shimoga in December 2012.

The Lokayukta court had directed the Lokayukta police to register an FIR and submit a report to the court. Following the said directive, the Lokayukta police had conducted raids on residential as well other premises belonging to the BJP strongman and his family members.
