Bangalore, Aug 13, 2013: The Traffic police have made following parking arrangements at Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Grounds for the Independence Day parade.
Yellow car pass holders from Cubbon Road can enter the Grounds from gate no 1 and park their vehicles on the western side of the ground.
Invitees with white car passes; secretaries to the government, military officials, police officers and Pink pass holders can take gate no 2 via Cubbon Road and park their vehicles on northeastern side of the parade ground.
Mediapersons and their designated vehicles should enter the parade ground through gate no 3 and park on the eastern side of the ground.
Parking arrangement for green pass holders has been made on Kamaraja and Main Guard Cross Road.
They may enter through gate no 4 and 5.
Vehicles ferrying participants in parade and cultural events could park at BRV Parade Grounds after dropping the participants at gate no 1. Participants with two- and four-wheelers could use the first floor BMTC complex at Shivajinagar and Chota Maidan at Shivajinagar Corporation Ground and Kanteerava Stadium.
All vehicles from the Public Works Department, Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike and others shall enter the parade ground from gate no 1 on Cubbon Road and park their vehicles behind the Fort wall. Separate parking arrangement has been made for two-wheelers on the eastern side of Kamaraja Road.
The visitors can enter through gate no 4 and 5. Visitors without passes can park their vehicles on the parking space on Kamaraja Road and enter parade grounds through gate no 4 and 5.
Due to security reasons the police have asked the invitees and public not to bring mobile phones, cameras, radio, umbrella and any other equipment to the parade ground. Persons carrying such things will be denied entry into the grounds.
Traffic diversions
Traffic will be diverted on August 15 between 8.30 am and 10.30 am from BRV Junction to Kamaraj Road Junction (both directions) and onto Cubbon Road in view of the Independence Day programme.
Vehicles proceeding from Medinova towards Manipal Center should move on Infantry Road and Safina Plaza, take a left turn and proceed on Main Guard Road, Allies Circle, Dispensary Road reach Kamaraja Road.
Vehicle coming from Manipal Centre Junction towards BRV Junction on Cubbon Road will take left turn at KR Road Junction towards Cauvery Art and Crafts to reach MG Road and take a right turn at Anil Kumble Circle towards BRV Junction.
The vehicles coming from Anil Kumble Circle towards Cubbon Road will proceed straight towards Central Street Junction, take a right turn to move on Infantry Road, Safina Plaza, take a left turn to Main Guard Road, Allies Circle, Dispensary Road, Kamaraja Road and Dickenson Road Junction, KR Road Junction, Cubbon Road and reach Manipal Centre junction.
