Security beefed up across Bangalore ahead of I-Day

manikhshaBANGALORE: Security has beefed across city, particularly to Manikshaw parade ground, where Independence day will be celebrated on Thursday. Police have made it clear that no bags, helmets, water bottles and umbrellas.

A total of 1400 policemen including 200 traffic police officials have been deployed in and around Manikshaw parade ground, said Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and order) Kamal Pant.

According to Kamal Pant, two Additional commissioner and three joint commissioners of police will monitor the security arrangements. “Eleven Deputy commissioners of police (DCP) will be heading the security which includes six platoons of KSRP with two commando troops in it. In addition to police force, military people are also making security arrangements,” Kamal Pant said.

Further, he added that security across city has been beefed up as well. “High police security has been arranged at commercial hubs, bus stands, railway station, airport and other places,” he added.
