BMTC penalty yields no result

bmtc--passesBANGALORE: BMTC caught 8,560 ticketless passengers during July 2013 and collected a whopping Rs10.37 lakh fines. But the penalty includes fines from conductors booked for pilferage cases. This is perhaps the highest amount of fines collected by the Corporation.

In addition to this, the line checking staff also collected Rs22,200 from 222 male passengers who occupied seats reserved for female passengers and refused to vacate.

The question arises why the team has failed to discipline the crew and passengers and how can passengers escape. Officials remain clueless how to teach the crew a lesson. Training is the only option, they say.
