siddu-newMysore, Aug 11, 2013: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday denied that Channapatna MLA C P Yogeeshwara has demanded a Cabinet berth in return for support to Congress candidate D K Suresh in the bypolls to Lok Sabha from Bangalore Rural constituency.

Answering media queries on the sidelines of a programme here, Siddaramaiah said, instead he sought the support of the ‘secular’ Samajwadi Party.

On the reported attempts made by Kanakapura MLA D K Shivakumar,  elder brother of D K Suresh, to cobble up the support of Karnataka Janata Party (KJP) chief B S Yeddyurappa, Siddaramaiah claimed that Shivakumar has not spoken to him in this regard. “It is his individual effort and not of the party,” he added.

The results of the byelections will not be a referendum on the government, he said. On the derogatory remarks made by JD(S) ex-MLA from Mandya M Srinivas about Congress candidate from Mandya and actor Ramya, Siddaramaiah said: “one should be responsible, especially while commenting on women.”
