BANGALORE Aug 7:  Kicking off bypoll canvassing for Bangalore Rural and Mandya segments, the Congress sought to know whether JD(S) supremo HD DeveGowda would support NarendraModi as Prime ministerial candidate.

Hitting out at JD(S) for an alliance with BJP, KPCC president G Parameshwara said by aligning with BJP, the Gowda led party was laying foundation for permanent tie up for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
Terming the alliance of BJP-JDS-KJP as tripartite agreement, chief minister Siddaramaiah said H D Kumaraswamy had the least attendance among all the MPs in parliament and had not even spent a single rupee on local area development for Bangalore Rural Lok Sabha segment.

Referring to the statement made by Kumaraswamy on the floor of the House on adjustment politics, Siddaramaiah played to the gallery asking the crowd present to reject political parties and leaders batting for adjustment politics.

On Gowda’s statement that this byelection would be his decisive battle, Siddaramaiah criticized saying the JD(S) supremo has being making this statement for last 20 years.
AICC general secretary in charge of party affairs in Karnataka, Digvijay Singh criticised the JD(S), terming it as a “party of a family”, which has no ideology. JD(S) is limited to some districts of Karnataka and runs only with the influence of Deve Gowda’s family, he said.
