BangaloreJuly 28;A 45-year-old construction supervisor with Namma Metro project died after a metal beam collapsed on him at the construction site in Peenya Industrial area on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased Govindaraju, a native of Vellore in Tamil Nadu, was standing near the crane which was carrying the metal beam when the crane suddenly overturned and the beam fell on him. He soon succumbed to injuries.
He was rushed to Sapthagiri hospital where he was declared brought dead. Police said that they are yet to ascertain why the crane overturned unexpectedly. They have booked a case of negligence under section 304 A of the IPC against the contractor Venkataswamy.
