BANGALORE: The KarnatakaJanataPaksha (KJP) is ready to have a pre-poll alliance with BJP in the LokSabha elections.

However, BJP leaders have taken the proposal with a pinch of salt since it hasn’t come from the KJP chief, but party spokesperson K Dhananjay Kumar. “We haven’t received any such proposal yet. Such things cannot be decided by us but leaders in New Delhi,” said a senior party leader.

The reason why BJP leaders didn’t want to react was quite apparent. Last time when Kumar had levelled allegations of corruption against BJP veteran LK Advani, Yeddyurappa had to cut a sorry figure and apologize for Kumar’s remarks.

On Wednesday, Kumar extended an open invitation to BJP saying KJP is ready to enter into a pre-poll alliance with BJP. But he was quick to clarify: “But it will not merge with BJP.”

His statement comes a week after Yeddyurappa made his stand clear on not joining BJP or having any alliance with the party again.
