Akhilesh Yadav on two-day visit

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will be on a two-day visit to Karnataka from Thursday. His visit is aimed at strengthening the Samajawadi Party (SP) in the State.

Addressing a press conference here, C P Yogeeshwara, the lone SP MLA in the State, said Yadav will arrive here around 2 pm on Thursday and subsequently hold meetings with office bearers of the party at a star hotel where he is going stay. He is also scheduled to interact with industrialists before meeting Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at Vidhana Soudha around 6 pm.

Yogeeshwara said that, on Friday Yadav would address a public meeting in Channapatna town, where he would be felicitated.  After the rally, he would go to Mysore, where he did his engineering course some years ago. He would visit Suttur Mutt to seek the blessings of the seers. Later, he would interact with his former classmates and visit the Chamundi Hills before leaving for Uttar Pradesh.

SP general secretary Rajiv Rai said that so far his party had not held talks with any party to have an alliance to face the Lok Sabha elections.
