Bangalore: The State government has decided to make it mandatory to provide separate rooms in all courts for notaries, said Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs T B Jayachandra.
Addressing the 6th All India Notaries’ Conference here on Sunday, he said there were 675 notaries as against the 1,013 sanctioned posts in the State. The government has decided to make appointments to as many as 176 posts.
The government has also decided to issue identity cards to all notaries. Non-availability of necessary records pertaining to 675 notaries was a hurdle. The Notaries’ Association should help the government in providing the same to speed up the process. The district officials had been requested to compile the data, Jayachandra said.
Supreme Court Judge Justice V Gopal Gowda said notaries, who are part of the judicial system, should be enjoy all basic facilities.
