Hubli: Primary and Secondary Education Minister Kimmane Ratnakar is protecting the accused in the 14-year-old girl death case in Thirthahalli in Shimoga district, for vote bank politics, alleged State BJP president Pralhad Joshi.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, Joshi charged that the accused belonged to a particular community and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah too was defending him. Chronology of events show that attempts were made to protect the accused, as government hospitals did not inform the police.
The government did not respond to the case till the agitation by the people got intensified. To find out the truth and punish the guilty, CBI inquiry should be ordered into the case, he said.

If the government wants to go ahead with CID probe itself, then Ratnakar should be dropped from the Cabinet failing which an impartial inquiry would not be possible, Joshi added.

Since Congress came to power in the State, law and order situation has collapsed and a series of untoward incidents including rapes are on rise.

Siddaramaiah is protecting Home Minister K J George and is not dropping him from the Cabinet due to pressure from Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

If proper steps are not taken to improve the law and order situation in the State, the issue will be brought to the notice of the Centre and will also be raised in the forthcoming session of the Parliament, he added.

In reply to Siddaramaiah’s remarks on RSS and Nathuram Godse, Joshi said “We need not learn the lesson of patriotism from the party which has alliance with Muslim League in Kerala whose leaders carry photograph of Osama Bin Laden.”
