Police have arrested two people, including a woman, in this connection and rescued five girls.

In the first incident, the accused pimp identified as Seema (35), of Bommanhalli was arrested by the Mico Layout police on Friday night. The police rescued three girls hailing from North India.

According to the police, in response to the information shared by a Twitter user, who had sent a specific link of an internet erotic advertisement with a mobile phone number, the police swung into action.

A decoy contacted the number listed on the websites and was sent to meet them. The Mico Layout police caught Seema red-handed and arrested her.

“The agent asked the decoy customer to come to Bhumika Circle in Mico Layout at around 7:30 pm on Friday late evening, but she later asked the decoy to come to a rented flat situated near Bhumika Circle.

The decoy reached the said address and the agent took him inside the room. The decoy in turn signaled the police, following which the raid was conducted. The police arrested Seema and rescued three girls,” said a senior police officer.

The accused Seema, a native of West Bengal, had came to the city around ten years ago. She had started the flesh trade business in order to lead a lavish life.

In another incident, a 40-year-old agent was arrested on Saturday night by Kadugodi police for allegedly running a human trafficking and prostitution racket at a hotel situated in Whitefield police station limits and rescued two girls in this connection.

The accused has been identified as Mohammed Ali alias Sultan. According to the police, the decoy customer contacted Sultan on the mobile number given on the website.

He was asked to come to Madiwala at around 7 pm. However, the agent later told the decoy to come to a hotel situated in Whitefield police limits. The police raided the hotel room and arrested Sultan and rescued two girls. The rescued are said to be aged between 25 and 29 years and hail from Assam and Mumbai.

“The trafficked girls were transported against their wish with false promise of job and were forced into prostitution,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police South-East Division, Rohini Katoch Sepat. Cases have been registered at Mico Layout and Kadugodi police stations in this connection.
