Bangalore: In its first complaint to new Governor Vajubhai Vala, the state BJP has demanded the removal of Wakf minister Qmarul Islam for allegedly selling off wakf board properties.

A BJP delegation headed by state BJP president Pralhad Joshi and former deputy Chief Minister R. Ashok, urged the Governor to remove  Wakf Minister Qamarul Islam for selling wakf property in Gulbarga and Home Minister K.J. George for failing to handle the law and order situation.

“The Governor  responded positively to our demand, he told us that he will call the Chief Minister to discuss the law and order situation and other issues mentioned in the memorandum”, Mr. Joshi told reporters after the meeting.

“The home minister has failed to handle the law and order situation, he is incapable of handling the Home portfolio. The increase in rape incidents in the city in recent days, the assault on an IAS officer in Mysore by a mob are proof of this. The government is encouraging criminals by protecting them”, Mr. Joshi criticized.

“Wakf minister Qamarul Islam had sold  wakf property spread over 8.33 acres to private parties in Gulbarga. A FIR has been filed against him, so we want him to be sacked,” Mr Joshi said.
