Family court hearing Karthik Gowda case posts it for Oct 21

Bangalore:  A family court hearing the case filed by a Kannada film actress against Karthik Gowda, son of Railway Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda, on Wednesday posted it for October 21 and gave him a final chance to file his objection by then.

She had filed the suit seeking the status of a legally wedded wife of Mr. Karthik Gowda and a direction that he should not get married until the disposal of the case.

When the case came up for the hearing, counsel for Mr. Karthik Gowda sought time citing that his client is in mourning following the death of his grandmother and needed time. Considering the plea, the court posted the case to October 21. The court directed Mr. Karthik Gowda to file the objection, failing which it said an ex-parte order would be passed, Akarasha Kanade, advocate for the film actress told The Hindu.

She had filed a complaint against Mr. Karthik Gowda at R.T. Nagar police station on August 27 soon after he got engaged to another woman. She accused him of kidnap, raping and cheating her after promising to marry her. She had claimed that they got married on June 5 in Mangalore and asked her to keep their marriage a secret as he had to convince his parents. The R.T. Nagar police had questioned Mr. Karthik Gowda and even subjected him for medical examination for further investigations.
