Car hit parapet wall of expressway to Electronic City

Three software engineers were killed on the spot when their car rammed into the parapet wall of the elevated expressway leading to Electronic City in the early morning hours of Saturday.

The victims — Aneesh Verghese (26), Ram Vaidyanathan (30) and Rajeevan Charles (35) — were residents of Bangalore.

The trio was on the way to office when the accident occurred around 3.45 a.m.

Police sources said that Mr. Charles was at the wheels. He picked up his colleagues and they were on their way to their office early in the morning to meet a project deadline.

At 3.45 a.m., Mr. Charles lost control over the vehicle. The vehicle hit the parapet wall of the expressway flyover and turned turtle. Although a few passersby rushed to their help and shifted them to a nearby hospital, they were declared brought dead.

Traffic movement on the busy flyover was disrupted for several hours due to the accident. Vehicles coming towards the city and those going towards Hosur were stuck till the police rushed to the spot and removed the mangled remains of the car from the spot.
