Bangalore: Dileep aspired to become a police officer, says his father
An SSLC student committed suicide on Monday afternoon in MV Gardens, Ulsoor, depressed over the failure in the exams.
The deceased has been identified as K Dileep Kumar, 15, a student of St Meera’s High School, Cambridge Layout.
Dileep Kumar, son of local Dalit Sangharsha Samiti leader G Kumar, ended his life by consuming pesticide.
Speaking to Deccan Herald, G Kumar said his son had gone to an Internet cafe to check the results and informed his parents that he had passed. “He was sure of passing the exam. But his friends told me that my son has failed in two subjects. He got depressed after seeing his results and behaved in a weird manner.
They said he banged his cellphone and rode on his two-wheeler,” he said. The parents grew suspicious as Dileep did not return home and started searching for him. The boy was found lying unconscious with a bottle of pesticide next to him. He was rushed to a private hospital and from there to Bowring Hospital, and later to Chinmaya Hospital where he died on Monday evening.
Kumar told Deccan Herald that his son wanted to be a police officer and was obsessed with the police uniform and wanted to sport one. He said he had even introduced him to the local police inspector, so that he could get inspired.
