Mangalore, September 8: The court has granted the anticipatory bail to Mr Karthik Gowda son of the central railway minister, who was charged for raping a model cum actress. Karthik has been ordered to pay Rs 2 Lakhs as a surety and has to visit the police station twice a month for interrogation.
The cops had taken action to take him under custody. Even a look –out notice was also issued. As he failed to attend the investigation, it was crucial that he was to be taken into custody and the cops had taken action to trace him. Karthik Gowda had appealed to the court for an anticipatory bail. Post which the court has granted him the same. The Justice Mudigowdar had granted the bail.
The actress, model Maithriya had lodged a complaint stating that Karthik Gowda had deceived her promising that he would marry her; tied a Mangalyam of Arasina Kombu stating that she is his wife at his dwelling in Mangalore and had raped her successively.
The complaint was lodged at R.T. Nagar Police Station.
