Mangalore, September 2: Onam is celebrated in some of the city colleges, which have considerable number of students flocking from Kerala.
On the eve of Onam festival, Srinivas College of Hotel Management hosted a floral rangoli competition in the college premises here on Monday September 1st, which witnessed exciting response of participants.
The college was soaked in festive mood with students from 25-30 colleges actively participated in this competition. Nearly 40 teams, each comprising 5 members; presented their creativity with lively floral patterns.
The competition was organized ahead of Onam festival that will be celebrated in the college on September 4th. The results will be declared on the day of the celebration.
In another event, a giant floral rangoli of 40×18 ft was created by Laxmi Memorial College of Hotel Management, the first of its kind in the city. The college officials said, hundreds of students had contributed to make the dream rangoli possible.
