Kasargod, August 30: A bus fell off the road and turned turtle near Cheruvathur resulting in 30 persons being injured and five among them being serious, on Friday August 29th.
It is reported that the bus was moving from Kayyur to Kanhangad.
It is gathered that the bus rolled down about 25 ft off the steep edge of the road and turned turtle.
Driver Venu, cleaner Shyamkumar along with three other passengers sustained serious injuries.
Some of the injured have been identified as Madhavi of Cheruvathur, Jaleel, Madhusudhan, Rakesh, Usha, Mohammed Kunhi, Ravindran, Jai Krishnan, Premalatha, Pradeep, Nizamuddin, Rameez, Reena Haridas, E P Shobha and Ramachandran. They have been admitted to a private hospital in Nileshwar.
Sources revealed that, Narayana, three-year-old Nanmaya, Krishnan and Raju were taken to Kanhangad government hospital and some were also admitted to hospital in Cheruvathur.
Locals rushed to the spot immediately when the accident occurred and helped in the rescue operations.
Case has been filed in Chandera police station.
