Mangalore, August 21: On a alleged involvement in an attempt to smuggle 17 tonnes of red sandel’s to Dubai from Mangalore Port, the Principal Civil Court Judge (senior division) remanded Samuel Aruldoss, exporter and managing director of M/s Beracha Exim Pvt Ltd, Bangalore and Ganesh Kumar, driver of the truck, in judicial custody for 14 days till September 3rd.
The accused were then produced before the Principal Civil Court (senior division), by the Mangalore Directorate of Revenue Intelligence. The judge ordered them 14 days judicial custody which was revealed by the official sources.
The duo, Samuel Aruldoss and Ganesh Kumar were arrested by the DRI for attempting to smuggle red sandalwood 16.990 tons, which worth Rs 6,79,60,000 from Mangalore Port to Dubai. The DIR is also looking for the co-directors of the company said the official sources.
