Mangalore, Aug 09: The train travel time between Mangalore and will be reduced by two hours once the track-doubling between Bangalore and Hassan is completed. At present, Bangalore-Mangalore train travel duration is 12 hours.
“As the train will travel 50 km less, the travelling time will come down and it will not require engine reversal at Mysore,” said Anil Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager, Bangalore.
A 110-km stretch of the 166-km Bangalore–Hassan line needs to be doubled. The Rs. 867 crore Bangalore–Mysore track-doubling project is expected to be completed within the current financial year.
