Three accused denied bail by HC in Derlakatte incident

Mangalore, Aug 06: Karnataka High Court has rejected the bail application of the three accused in the case of Derlakatte medical students kidnap and forced sex case.

In the incident that was reported on December 18 last year, the muggers had kidnapped the two students, forced them to have sex, captured it on their mobile phones and had then blackmailed them.

Three of the accused namely Sameer alias Munna of Katipalla, Hussain alias Safwan of Halenangadi and Iqbal Arif of Derlakatte had applied for bail which is now rejected. The remaining accused in the case namely Arafat, Iqbal Aris, Nisar, Nawaz, Imran Althaf are also behind bars.

The hearing in the case is scheduled on August 14 in the Sixth District Sessions Court.
