Bunder Police inspection: Inter-state bike lifters arrested, six bikes seized

Mangalore, Aug 06: Three alleged bike lifters were arrested by Bunder Police on Tuesday, August 05. The police also recovered six bikes from them.

The arrested persons are Mohammad Naushad S M alias Naushu (22) from Seetangoli, Kumble, Mahammad Faisal alias Faisal (28), from Arikkady Colony, Kumble and Abdul Majeed (31) from Rehammaniya Nagar, Kasargod.

The accused were caught during a regular traffic inspection headed by M C Madan, Crime Branch, Bunder Police Station. The trio were travelling on a Bajaj CT 100, during inspection they did not have the necessary documents and police grew suspicious and questioned them. Hence it was learnt that it was a stolen bike.

During further interrogation, the trio revealed that they used to steal bikes from past three years in Mangalore, Puttur, Honnavar and in and around Kasargod and used to sell them through Abdul Majeed, who is a scrap dealer by profession. Police then recovered six stolen bikes from them.

Further investigation has been instigated by Cheluvaraj, Inspector, and team, Bunder Police Station under the guidance of R Hitendra, Police Commissioner, Mangalore City.
