Car passengers looted at Thokkottu, four thieves arrested

Kasargod, Aug 01: The Kasargod police have arrested four accused in the case of threatening and looting four persons from Shiriya near Kumble on the National Highway at Thokkottu on July 31, Thursday night.

The Police have seized a revolver, dagger, two swords, cell phones and a Renault Duster car from the arrested.

Basheer Sarvi (32) from Mumbai, Mushtaq Abubakker Naqvi (31), Muneer Rafiq Khan (20) and Gulam Mohammed Ishaq Sheikh (33) from Thane are the arrested persons.

The robbery took place near Thokkottu when four persons including Zakir, Iqbal and Mustafa were heading towards Kumble in their car. Their car was intercepted by the assailants on the pretext of asking way to some place. But later one of them pointed a gun at Zakir and threatened them to hand over their cash and valuables. Fearing their life all the four did so and handed over Rs 15000 cash apart from 2 cell phones.

The victims informed their friends about the incident soon after the assailants fled the place, their friends intimated the Kumble and Kasargod police. The alert police spotted the car at Karandakkad and arrested the culprits.
