Suspecting that some influential persons might be behind the case, Shobha alleged that there was a strategy to systematically close the case. “I have already written to State Home Minister KJ George with a demand for a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the family and also a thorough probe. I will once again speak to the Chief Minister and Home Minister seeking Corps of Detectives (CoD) probe into the case,” she said.

When the reports questioned her on rising sexual crimes against women in the state, the MP said that there has been a complete breakdown of law and order situation in the state. “I have a doubt if the government is dead for the women in the state,” she said.

The MP was accompanied by BJP leaders of Kundapur, Byndoor and Udupi. Tingale Vikramanrjun Hegde, Udupi District BJP President, Gururaj Uppunda, General Secretary, Geethanjali Suvarna, Vice President, Shyamala Kunder, State BJP Secretary and several party leaders were present.

Ratna Kottari was a PUC student of Alandur Konanamakki who died under suspicious circumstances recently.
