Kasargod, July 23: A four year old girl has breathed her last reportedly due to medical negligence after being operated for a heart ailment a few days ago.

The deceased girl is Geetha, daughter of Sumathi and Babu Couple hailing from Peradala Koraga Colony at Badiadka.

Sources said that the girl was discharged from the Pariyaram Medical College Hospital with doctors recommending that she can take rest at home, soon after the surgery.  But the girl fell ill on July 20, Sunday and was rushed to the Badiadka Community Health Centre.

The doctors sent her back from there without any examination, it is alleged. The girl had breathed her last when she was later taken to a private doctor.

The family alleges that medical negligence of the doctors at the government hospital was responsible for the death of Geetha.  Local residents have urged the panchayat to take action against government doctors who refuse to treat patients on time.

It is also said that a woman had also died in the hospital a few days ago after she was refused treatment by the doctors.
