“Women and children have no protection because the law and order has collapsed in the State.  Home Minister K.J. George is responsible for it and he must resign. In 2013, there were 1,030 rape cases and 1,836 kidnap cases reported. This year till the end of June, 525 rape cases, 2,357 atrocity cases and 1,522 dowry harassment cases have been reported, this clearly shows that there has been an increase of rape and atrocities in the State,” Monappa Bhandary said.

“Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who spoke on welfare of farmers did not flay police action on firing at farmers who were protesting. In the state of Karnataka there is no protection for land, cattle and women, who are worshiped in Hindu culture. Those who have committed crimes have freedom,” he added.

BJP State Vice President Sulochana Bhat and other BJP leaders were present on the occasion.
