Kasargod, July 15: Five persons have been arrested by Kasargod police on the charges of cheating vehicle drivers after hiring their vehicles and then pledging them for loans.
Riyaz (34) of Neeleshwara in Kasargod, Naushad (34) of Uduma, Abdul Gafur (30) of Kannur, Zakir (36) of Pattambi and Justin (24) of Malappuram are the arrested persons.
Interrogations of the five revealed that they had resorted to cheating in Kasargod, Kannur, Malappuram, Palakkad and other places. Meanwhile police are on the lookout for a Tamil Nadu resident who was acting as a broker.
