Mangalore, July 11: Robbers who broke into a Govt. residential quarters at Hat Hill in the city have escaped with valuables worth nearly Rs 2.20 lakhs. The theft came to light on July 10, Thursday.
The theft is learnt to have taken place on July 5. The house belongs to TJ Takat Rao, Planning Director of Urban Development Body, he had left for his native place along with family members.
The thieves had broken open the front door to loot the valuables.
A case has been registered in Urva police station.
