Mangalore: Devadiga Samskrutika Sauraba and Samuhika Shri Satya Narayana Pooja were held in the city at Devadiga community hall, Mannagudda. The programme was a joint venture of Karnataka Rajya Devadiga Sanga (R) and other Women and Youth organisations.
Harish Sherigar, Director of Acme Vision and Acme Building Materials Dubai, Smt Taarkesari, Administrator of Resource centre Belthangadi, Hemanth Kumar of Chirag Promoters and Developers, Laxman devadiga of Bhagyajyothi wood Industries Konchadi and other guests were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Smt Taarkesari said,”our society is getting weaker due to the lack of organisations, we should build more organisations and make our society stronger. We should have unity with us. Recognising talents from every nook and corner is very necessary. Backward students should be motivated by our organisations.”
Entrepreneur and singer Harish Sherigar, who has been actively donating funds to various activities of the organisation and providing scholarships to poor students, spoke on the occasion and said, ”self ability and hard work will provide success in life, I serve the society with what I have. These social activities of mine were only possible owing to the support of my wife.”
Mamata Devadiga, Harish Sherigar, Hemanth Devadiga, Chandrahas Devadiga and Meghana Saligrama were felicitated on the occasion for their achievements and contributions.
Vaman Maroli, President of Karnataka Rajya Devadiga Sanga presided over the programme. Subhash Kanvateerta welcomed the gathering, Smt Veni Maroli introduced the honourees, Suresh Nitilapura presented the vote of thanks, Shrinivas Devadiga and Nivedita Devadiga hosted the programme.

After the formal function, ‘Devadiga Samskrutika Sauraba’, a variety cultural show was presented by members of the community.
