Bangalore, July 5: Capt. Ganesh Karnik, BJP MLC has been appointed as the Opposition chief in the State Legislative Council. He also represents the Bangalore South-East Teachers’ Constituency.
Capt. Karnik was first elected as MLC in 2006 from the South-West Teachers’ Constituency which also includes Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts among other districts.
Capt. Ganesh Karnik is a former captain of Indian Army. He was a commissioned officer before opting for voluntary retirement. He is working for the Nitte Education Trust as well.
Karnik has been highlighting the problems of the teachers in the council and also helping in finding a solution to their problems as well as meeting their demands
