Mangalore :Traffic was disrupted at various parts of the city on Thursday June 19 after huge trees rolled over the roads due to heavy downpour and strong winds. Electricity supply was also disrupted at various places.
Trees got uprooted near the Nandigudda Crematorium, near the flower market cross road at Carstreet, Valencia and at Madantyar in Belthangady taluk. In Carstreet, the tree fell over an autorickshaw parked in front of the flower market and at Valencia, the tree that came crashing down, damaged a transformer. In Belthangady the tree rolled on to the road near Kolpadabail. In Pandeshwar a tree fell to the road near the Forum Fiza Mall affecting vehicular movement.
The MESCOM personnel are having a tough time in restoring power supply that has been affected in various parts of the city.
