Mangalore, June 6: Rajani from the Congress party was elected unopposed as the President of the Taluk Panchayat, and Prakash Yedapadav of BJP was elected as the Vice President in the elections held for the respective posts at the Taluk Panchayat meeting hall on June 6, Friday.
The elections were held under Dr Prashanth, Assistant Commissioner, who was the election officer.
The post of Taluk Panchayat President was reserved for a SC candidate and the BJP had chosen not to field anyone. However, the election for the post of Vice President saw two candidates namely Prakash Hosabettu of Congress and Prakash Yedapadavu of the BJP.
State Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader who was present, congratulated he newly elected Taluk Panchayat President and Vice President.
