Mangalore, May 19: The DC of Dakshina Kannada, A.B. Ibrahim has informed the Officials to be ready with necessary equipments to tackle natural calamities in the district on the grounds of nearing monsoon.
He was addressing a meet organized at his office to discuss the remedies to prevent destruction and harm to public during the rainy season.
“The flood prone areas should be identified before hand and necessary arrangements should be made, every village should have a committee for this. Swimmers, boats, JCB, Lorries should be booked right now and utilized during necessity. Homegaurds and Fire engines should be active at the time,” He suggested.
Tulasi Madineni informed Forest Department to clear the wooden logs lying on the sides of the roads. An arrangement to provide drinking water to flood stuck areas is a must, she said.
ADC Sadashiva Prabhu, Mangalore Subdivision officer Dr. Prashant, Puttur Subdivision officer Krishnamorrthi and other officers from various departments were present.
