Bantwal, May 17: BJP workers who were taking part in the victory procession entered the compound of a mosque, burst crackers on the afternoon of Friday May 16 at Kambalabettu in Vitlamudnoor village near Vittal.
BJP workers from villages like Urimajalu, Kambalabettu, Shantinagar etc were moving in vehicles, raising slogans and hailing BJP for its impressive performance.
A complaint was lodged by the members of the mosque managing committee stating that a few of the BJP workers got down from the vehicles, entered the compound of the mosque, burst crackers and pelted stones at the mosque. A window pane of the mosque was shattered in the incident, it is said.
Vittal police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. A case against Ramdas Kambalabettu, Sunit Karyady, Ganesh Urimajalu, Nandakumar Kambalabettu, Harish Urimajalu and others was registered in Vittal police station.
