Puttur, May 13: Two young riders were killed on the spot when their two-wheeler was knocked down by a speeding lorry at the Kootelu Bridge near Uppinangady on Monday.
Suhail (23), son of U K Mohammed and Altaf (23), son of Mohammed Sad Monu of Valalu, were riding on a scooter and have sustained fatal injuries in the head and are said to have died of heavy bleeding.
The mishap took place on the national highway 75. Both worked in Bangalore and had come on holidays. They were on their way to Puttur to buy a new bike.
The lorry did not stop after the mishap. The Puttur traffic police have registered a case and are trying to track down the lorry.
