Conduct vote counting without any bias: DC

Mangalore, May 10: District Commissioner and Election Returning Officer A.B. Ibrahim said that the counting of votes should be done without any prejudice or bias, he also informed that the counting of votes polled in the constituency will start off at 8 a.m. on May 16 Friday.

Speaking at a function connected with a training camp at his office on Saturday May 10, for counting staff, he said, “The dedicated staff designated should perform their duties in a free fair and transparent manner to the best ethics for the success of the poll process.”

DC informed that the strong room where the EVMs are stored will be opened in the presence of the representatives of the candidates on May 16 at 7.30 am. For every Parliamentary constituency segment there will be two counting rooms, each room will have seven counting tables and each table will have a counting supervisor and an assistant. Every room will have an assistant election officer and an additional assistant election officer.

The poll counting staffs were trained by N K Nagendra District Statistics Department officer and Krishnamurthi, Puttur AC who underwent in-depth training on vote counting at the central camp organized by Central Election Commission in Delhi earlier.

The public from all sections of society are very much looking forward for this process, the result is very much in debate, let’s hope for the best.
