Mangalore, May 10: Endosulfan affected people will henceforth get their monthly pension through the Revenue Department instead of Health Department, informed the Secretary of the State Health and Family Welfare Department, N Shivashailam who participated in a progress review meet on rehabilitation of Endosulfan victims held at the DC office on May 9, Friday.
Shivashailam also informed that victims will be provided pension regularly. Adding to this he said that it would be wise to spend more on the better health of the Endosulfan affected people instead of offering compensation to the families of those victims who die.
During the meet he directed the authorities concerned to equip the rehabilitation centres of Endosulfan victims with all basic facilities and also to ensure the safety of the disabled girl children.
