Mangalore, May 5: District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai said that he was unaware about the threat posed by Minister Abhayachandra Jain to a Moodbidri journalist Yashodhara Bangera.
Speaking at the press meet held at District Congress Office on May 5, Monday, he said that he knew Minister Abhayachandra Jain had an conversation with a journalist over the phone, but did not know about the threatening case, anyhow it was his personal problem, so was on his side to comment to it.
When one of the journalist, asked Rai of not considering the matter as Jain’s personal issue, since he had threatened to break the limbs of journalist and make him beg, Rai said that he has seen the unity of journalists when one of them was arrested and how many had come to his rescue. He urged the journalists to raise the issue with minister Abhayachandra himself.
Commenting on BJP leader CT Ravi’s Rai Hatao programme, he said that C T Ravi must provide evidences before hurling any allegations against him. If he holds such campaign, then Congress will also plan similar campaign against him, he added.
District Congress Interim President Ibrahim Kodijal, Mayor Mahabala Maarla, leader Kallige Taranath Shetty were also present.
