Mangalore, May 05: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged a protest in front of the DC office on May 5, Monday accusing and demanding immediate steps to ban the practice of Pankti Bheda in Udupi Sri Krishna Mutt.
KR Sriyan and Vasanth Achari, CPI (M) leaders who addressed the protesters described the recent incident reported from the Sri Krishna Mutt as inhumane, wherein a woman belonging to the Bunt community was not served food but was asked to walk out for the reason for being a non-Brahmin.
The protest was witnessed by several CPI (M) workers who took part.
