Mangalore May 1: Urgent measures have to be taken to control the breeding of mosquitoes which is rampant during monsoon season. Mosquitoes are responsible for spread of malaria and dengue.
The first phase of breeding control program will commence from May 4th to May 17th and the second phase from June 2nd to June 12th. The district will be covered in these two phases with house to house visits where mosquito breeding grounds will be identified and destroyed. The following organizations are being geared up to lend teeth, junior women health assistant, junior men health assistant, Aashaa workers, Anganawadee workers, and social welfare organizations.
Grama panchayat, city corporations, town panchayats, and corporators and other voluntary organizations will cooperate with health and family welfare department said the officials.
