MCC to launch awareness drive ‘Let’s Fight Malaria’

Mangalore, April 26: Mangalore City Corporation in association with Centre for Integrated Learning (CIL), Mangalore will launch a “Let’s Fight Malaria” an Awareness Campaign on Malaria in the backdrop of the spurt in Malaria and dengue cases in the city and other places of the district.

Speaking to the media at his cabin, Mayor Mahabala Maarla on April 25 Friday said that the campaign will be held the tag line ‘Declaring War Against Malaria’.

Around 20,000 students from nearly 50 schools in the city will take the responsibility of maintaining a record on the number of Malaria cases in their respective areas.

The campaign will comprise of lectures, training programmes, presentations, awareness through Yakshagana and theatrical presentations as well as a painting contest.

Mayor also said that a total of 49 members will conduct a door-to-door survey on Malaria cases and create awareness on the disease.

Deputy Mayor Kavitha, MCC Commissioner Ajith Kumar, CIL directors Sachitha Nandagopal  and Srinivasan Nandagopal, were also present.
