Jokkate Cattle trader gunned down by ANF sleuths

Chikmagalur, Apr 19: The Anti-Naxal Force (ANF) sleuths shot an innocent Mangalore based cattle trader traveling in a transportation vehicle near Sringeri check post on the Chikmagalur-Karkala state highway on April 19, Saturday.

The deceased is identified as Kabeer (30), son of one Idinabba hailing from Krishnapura near Suratkal.

According to the sources, when the ANF sleuths were checking vehicles in the area, saw a vehicle carrying five men, moving towards Kerala stopped them, but when they did not stop as per their order, the officials opened fire at the vehicle, which hit the youth killing him on the spot.

Reportedly, the other people in the vehicle were Farooq from Jokatte, who was arrested while other three are driver Pramod, Sarfaraz and Rafiq from Jokatte who escaped from them.
