LS Election polling concludes; DK registers 76% poll

Mangalore, April 17: At the end of the polling, Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency has registered over 76 per cent of polling on April 17, Thursday at 6 pm.

The polling in Belthangady is 76.55%, Moodbidri  74.75 %, Mangalore North 70.08%, Mangalore South 70.02%, Mangalore (Ullal)  74.32%, Bantwal  74.76%, Puttur 80.36% and Sullia 83.50%.

Today’s polling for the LS election will decide the fate of 14 contesting candidates from Dakshina Kannada Constituency including B Janardhana Poojary from Congress, Nalin Kumar Kateel from BJP,  MR Vasudeva from AAP, Yadava Shetty from CPI(M), Haneef Khan  from SDPI, Supreeth Kumar Poojary from Hindustan Janatha Party, Abdul Karim from BSP and seven independents candidates Anand Gatti, Kushala Bellare, Sudatta Jain, Deepak Rajesh Coelho, Maxim Pinto, KN Somashekhar and Subrahmanya Gowda in the fray.

DK has a total of 1564093 voters including 7,90,423 female voters and 7,73,602 men voters.

All the political party leaders including Janardhana Poojary, Ramanath Rai, MLA J R Lobo, Moiddin Bava, Nalin Kumar Kateel, Former MLA Yogish Bhat and others cast their precious vote in the morning along with their family in their respective polling booth.

DK witnessed no untoward incident in any polling station so far.
